E 1922

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The draft of a General German Criminal Code (1922) has also become known under the designation E 1922 or "Draft Radbruch". It owes the latter name to its author, the then Reich Minister of Justice Gustav Radbruch (1878–1949), who is more or less the sole author of the design.

Although it never went beyond the status of a cabinet draft, the draft nevertheless achieved a relatively high level of awareness. This is due to some relatively "modern" features of the E 1922 - in particular the planned abolition of the penitentiary and the death penalty - which had been deleted again in the subsequent drafts (E 1925, E 1927).
