The Eagleplayer is one of the most important playback programs for the Commodore Amiga computer . The program supports more than 150 playback formats, has an Arexx interface and a port to load additional plug-ins (engines). The authors January Blumenthal and Henryk Richter he was appointed as Shareware - Program published.

A special feature of the Eagleplayer is that the program was built up completely modular as early as the early 1990s. Only the absolutely essential program parts are included in the main program. The playback formats, visualizations and auxiliary programs are fully implemented as plug-ins. This also applies in particular to the user interfaces, which can be dynamically exchanged at runtime.

At the end of 2004 the source code of the Eagleplayer was released under the GPL .
