Early adopter
The term early adopter (English for early adopters or early adopters ) comes from diffusion research and describes people who use the latest technical achievements or the latest variants of products or fashion accessories. Early adopters are - after the actual innovators - among the first to adopt new ideas.

Early adopters have special characteristics compared to other people:
- Socio-economic characteristics
- Higher status, better education, greater need for social mobility.
- Personality factors
- More empathy, less dogmatism, more positive attitudes towards change and risk.
- Communication behavior
- Better integration into the social system, more frequent assumption of the role of opinion leaders .
