Easterns , Eastern Transvaal until 1995 , is a South African cricket team based in Benoni , which took part in professional national competitions until October 2004. From then on, after a merger with Northerns , the team became part of the Titans , and continued to play under the name Easterns in the second-rate South African competitions. The team won the South African first-class competition, the Currie Cup , once.

history

Since rising to the highest level of South African cricket in 1991, Easterns played mainly in the lower division. In the 1998/99 season the team rose, the team achieved the greatest success in 2002/03 when they won the Currie Cup. In the 2003/04 season, the provincial teams were merged and Easterns formed the Titans together with Northerns. So far, the Easterns have not been successful in the first-class and List A competitions of the now semi-professional provincial teams.
