Eberhard is a Swiss watch manufacturer specializing in the development of chronographs . Eberhard was established in 1887 in Switzerland , in La Chaux-de-Fonds founded by Georges Emile Eberhard. From 1919 Eberhard became the official supplier to the Royal Navy of Italy .

history

Georges-Emile Eberhard was born in Saint-Imier in 1865 . In 1887 he founded the watch manufacture of the same name "d'Horlogerie Eberhard & Co" in La Chaux-de-Fonds. In the same year he presented his first pocket chronograph. In 1907, the headquarters of the "Eberhard" manufacture on Rue Léopold Robert in La Chaux-de-Fonds was inaugurated. In 1919 the sons Georges and Maurice Eberhard took over the management. In 1926 they took over the company completely.

The Swiss company interrupted its work during the Second World War and only resumed it in 1947 two years after the end of the war. In 1987 "d'Horlogerie Eberhard & Co" celebrated its 100th anniversary.
