Eckhardt Bohle

Eckhardt Böhle (* 1947 in Arolsen ) is a German physiotherapist .

Life

Böhle passed his Abitur at the Christian Rauch School. In 1971 he completed his training as a physiotherapist at the Friedrichsheim School for Physiotherapy at the Orthopedic University Clinic in Frankfurt a. M. from. Since 1982 he has been treating patients in his own practice with a focus on orthopedics and traumatology .

Böhle was deputy chairman from 1983 to 1986, then from 1986 to 2001 chairman of the German Association for Physiotherapy (formerly Central Association of Physiotherapists in Germany - ZVK). From 2001 to 2014 he was Secretary General of the German Association for Physiotherapy.

Böhle has been married since 1991 and has four children. The family lives in Cologne.

Professional focus

The focus of his professional political work included in particular the shift in German physiotherapy towards evidence-based practice and the mapping and anchoring of physiotherapy services in guideline development based on the current state of research. He was the "father" of the partnership model according to §§ 92 Paragraph 6, 125 SGB V and played a key role in the development of the therapeutic products guidelines and the medicinal product catalog. Böhle also managed to lead German physiotherapy through the difficult phase of the reunification of Germany and to network it internationally through his involvement in international organizations, in particular the World Confederation for Physiotherapy (WCPT) and its European region.

From 2005 to 2012 he was chairman of the working group for non-member professions in the Federal Association of Liberal Professions . From 1988 to 2010 he was a board member of the European Region of the World Confederation of Physiotherapy (ER-WCPT). From 1995 to 2003 he was also the chairman of the international freelance organization. From 1987 to 2001 Eckhardt Böhle was a board member of the World Confederation for Physiotherapy (WCPT). Eckhardt Böhle is also a co-founder of the "ZVK Foundation - Foundation for the Promotion of Research and Evaluation in Physiotherapy" and was its 1st chairman from its inception until 2014.

Awards

Eckhardt Böhle has received the following honors for his work and commitment:

  • 1993 Hohmann Medal of the German Society for Orthopedics and Orthopedic Surgery (DGOOC) for services to the development of orthopedics.
  • 2008 Stone of the Wise Men of the German Association for Physiotherapy for services to the development of German physiotherapy.
  • 2010 Badge of Honor of the European Region of the WCPT for contributions to the building of the European Region of the WCPT.
  • 2010 honorary membership in the Polish Physiotherapy Association for merits in bilateral cooperation.
  • 2011 International Service Award of the WCPT in recognition of the achievements in the establishment and for the development of the European Region of the WCPT as well as the international cooperation in physiotherapy.
  • 2014 honorary membership in the state association of North Rhine-Westphalia of the German Association for Physiotherapy for services to physiotherapy at national and international level.
