The Edgware Town Football Club is an English football club based in Edgware , Greater London. The club was founded in 1939 and plays in the Spartan South Midlands Football League .

Club history

The club was founded in 1939 and participated in the game operations of the Middlesex Senior League until he joined the Corinthian League for the 1946/47 season . In 1948 the club recorded winning the Middlesex Senior Cup . When the Corinthian League dissolved for the 1963/64 season, the club, like numerous other clubs, moved to the Athenian League , in which they immediately won the championship title of Division One and rose to the Premier Division of the Athenian League. After the Athenian League also ceased playing in 1984, the club, renamed Edgware FC in 1970, moved to the London Spartan League . In 1987 it was renamed Edgware Town FC . After promotion to the Isthmian League was denied in 1982 and 1988 due to the insufficient venue, promotion finally succeeded in 1990. Edgware played in the lower seasons of the Isthmian League until 2006, before moving to the Spartan South Midlands Football League as part of a league reform , from which they were promoted to the Isthmian League a year later. After the end of the 2007/08 season, the club had to cease playing until further notice due to the lack of a venue. Since the 2014/15 season, the club has been back in the divisions of the Spartan South Midlands Football League.
