The Edinburgh Academical Football Club is a rugby union -Verein which in the Scottish National League Division One play. The home games are played at Raeburn Place in Edinburgh . It is the oldest rugby union club in Scotland.
The Edinburgh Academical Football Club was founded in 1857. Due to the not yet completed division between football and rugby, the founders did not include rugby in the club name. In 1871 the first international match in history between Scotland and England took place at the club's venue.
The club has the most national team players for Scotland in the history of the sport, over 100 in total.
