Edita Broglio
Edita Broglio (born November 26, 1886 in Smiltene , Latvia as Edita Walterowna zur-Muehlen ; † January 19, 1977 in Rome , Italy ) was a Latvian painter and art journalist. She appeared in Italy in the interwar period as a representative of magical realism .
life and work
Edita Broglio came from a Baltic noble family. From 1908 to 1910 she studied at the Königsberg Art Academy in East Prussia .
After two years in Paris , she settled permanently in Rome in 1912, where she met her future husband, the painter, author and art journalist Mario Broglio in 1917 . With him she edited the art magazine Valori Plastici (German: "Plastic Values"), which was also important beyond the borders of Italy from 1918 to 1922 .
Edita Broglio died in Rome in 1977.
