Edition C emerged from "Edition Cartoons & Comics" founded in 1978 . The books by the Swiss cartoonists Werner Nydegger and Mario Grasso , works by the cartoonist Nico and comic strips by Peter Hürzeler were published there. This was followed by picture books and, from 1984, the art books by the Swiss surrealist, painter, sculptor, architect, designer and Oscar winner HR Giger ( Alien - The uncanny creature from a strange world ) and, from 1994, the picture books by the German painter Sebastian Krüger , who in his visually and psychologically explosive images often portrayed world stars such as the Rolling Stones and public figures. The original editions of the books published by Edition C are also available in American ( Morpheus Int., Las Vegas ), English ( Titan Books, London ) and Japanese ( Treville, Tokyo ) licensed editions.
Edition C books have been supplied by Lappan Verlag in Germany, Austria and Switzerland since 1985 .
