Eduardo Rodríguez Veltzé

Eduardo Rodríguez Veltzé (born March 2, 1956 in Cochabamba , Bolivia ) is a Bolivian lawyer and politician. He was the incumbent president of his country from June 9, 2005 to January 22, 2006.

Rodríguez studied law at the University of Cochabamba and graduated from Harvard University .

He has been President of the Supreme Court of Bolivia since 1999.

Following the resignation of President Carlos Mesa , the Bolivian parliament appointed Rodríguez as the country's new interim president on June 9, 2005. He organized new elections on December 18 of the same year, from which the socialist Evo Morales emerged as the clear winner.
