educationsuisse is an organization that represents the interests of Swiss schools abroad vis-à-vis the general public, the economy and the authorities in Switzerland, organizes and conducts annual conferences for Swiss schools abroad and helps develop and manage tasks for the development and implementation of strategies for Swiss schools abroad.

Services

educationsuisse takes on certain employee functions for the Swiss teaching staff at the recognized Swiss schools and concludes contracts with social insurance companies. She administers the first and second pillars of the social security for Swiss teachers, pays due premiums and prepares accounts. It handles the payment transactions on behalf of the Swiss schools and does the corresponding bookkeeping.

educationsuisse promotes the exchange of information between the schools, carries out financial controlling for them and advises them on economic situation assessments. She also maintains contact with Swiss school sponsoring associations and Swiss teachers abroad.

educationsuisse also looks after scholarship dossiers, processes the related payment transactions, awards additional scholarships and loans in cases of hardship, represents the interests of the Swiss Abroad at the Intercantonal Scholarship Conference (IKSK), in the commission for the mediation of Swiss education abroad, at cantonal and federal level Participates in the annual Congress of the Swiss Abroad and works with the youth service of the Organization of the Swiss Abroad .

history

In 1946, the Aid Committee for Schools of the Swiss Abroad , the predecessor organization of educationsuisse, was founded and later renamed the Committee for Swiss Schools Abroad (KSA). The association has been called educationsuisse since 2012 . In 2014 educationsuisse and ajas (Association for the Promotion of Training for Young Swiss Abroad) merged and merged their previous competencies and tasks under the common name educationsuisse.

In 1989 the office was moved from Zurich to Bern and incorporated into the Organization of the Swiss Abroad.
