Preserved facade

The former Pressehaus Dusseldorf , Martin-Luther-Platz 26 in Dusseldorf , which is under monument protection standing facade remains.

The building in the style of conservative modernism was in the tradition of north German brick architecture . It was built in 1925/1926 according to designs by the Düsseldorf architects Tietmann & Haake . The two upper floors form a three-step glazed gable. A kind of tracery in the form of staggered blind arcades breaks through the blind gable. The brick gable is structured by closely-lined stone pillars. The building was damaged in World War II but was rebuilt. In 1990/1994 the press building was finally destroyed with the construction of the Schadow Arkaden . Only the listed facade was retained and integrated into the new building.
