Honor plaque of the Feld-Luftgau region XXX

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The honor plaque of the Feld-Luftgau XXX was a non-wearable award of the German Air Force during the Second World War , which was given by General der Flieger Bernhard Waber between July 1943 and the dissolution of the Luftgau in August 1944.

The rectangular badge made of zinc is 146 mm high and 103 mm wide and burnished. On its front at the upper edge it shows the national badge of the Air Force over three coats of arms of the cities of Agram , Skopje and Tirana . Under these coats of arms two diagonally crossed propeller screws can be seen, in the middle of which an iron cross is embedded. Below this propeller wheel you can see the coat of arms of Belgrade , which is framed by laurel branches on the upper edge and oak leaves on the lower edge. This is followed by the four-line inscription, the second line of which consists of only three dots, FOR.BESONDERE.BEWÄHRUNG / ... / DER.KOMMANDIERDE.GENERAL.AND / BEFEHLSHABER.IM.FELDLUFTGAU XXX . The back of the badge is semi-hollow and shows a soldered wire eyelet on the upper edge, which is used for hanging. The plaque was always handed out with an award certificate.
