The honorary badge of the LDPD was an award of the Liberal Democratic Party of Germany (LDPD) of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), which was donated in 1960 on the occasion of the 8th party congress of the LDPD as the party's second highest award. They were awarded for “exemplary acts to strengthen and consolidate the party” by resolution of the secretariat of the central executive committee. The gold-plated badge is oval and has a diameter of 18 mm. It shows a red D in front of a rising sun within two laurel branches that are open at the top and the ends of which are connected with a colored enameled GDR flag , which in turn is enclosed by the writing: LIBERAL-DEMOKRATISCHE PARTTEI DEUTSCHLANDS .
