The Eichelhütte in Eisenschmitt in the district of Bernkastel-Wittlich in Rhineland-Palatinate is a foundry founded in 1701 by Johann Jakob Minden , the operator of the Eisenschmittner Hütte at the time . It was inherited from Himmerod Abbey . In 1704 it was acquired by Franz Gottfried von Pidoll - without the permission of the abbey - and in 1793 became the private property of the von Pidolls. In 1749 a mansion was built. Further changes of ownership took place in 1800 (Joh. Marcellin & Co.), 1815 (Thiollière & Neyrand) and 1820 (Kraemer family). At this time there are four fresh fires and two forging hammers in operation. In 1868 the foundry was shut down and the buildings were later used as a spinning mill, hotel ( Molitors mill ) and apartment.
