Eiland der Spinnen (English original title: Web ) is a novel by the English science fiction author John Wyndham and was published in 1979 - 10 years after his death. The German first edition was published in 1981 by Verlag Droemer Knaur in a translation by Klaus Boer .

In the book, a group of men and women set off for a distant island where nuclear tests were carried out years ago. The local population had more or less evacuated by force and no one has entered the island since then. After landing, the newcomers have to discover that hideous creatures populate the island.
