Burn-in stands for:

  • Stoving (dyeing) , process for hardening printing inks and stoving enamels
  • Process for the surface treatment of metals with linseed oil and other vegetable oils, some of which are also referred to as black burning:
    • the blackening of iron cookware and forged products with corrosion protection using linseed oil
    • the varnish firing on copper and copper materials
    • the patination or browning of aluminum by burning in linseed oil at temperatures around 400 ° C
  • Burn-in (screen) , the creation of a visible pattern due to static images or overloading on a screen
