In the Manchester (NY) railway accident on August 25, 1911, a train derailed on a bridge near Manchester , New York , USA . 28 people died.

The railway bridge led over the Canandaigua . On the route , shortly before the bridge, a rail broke due to a material defect. The front part of the 14-car-long train passed the damaged area unhindered, but a bogie of the sixth car derailed . As a result, all of the subsequent wagons derailed and the seventh wagon fell into the river from a height of 12 meters.
