Metz railway accident

In the Metz railway accident on October 14, 1908 near Metz , Michigan , USA , a train crashed from a damaged bridge into a canal. 35 people died.

The village of Metz was trapped in a forest fire and can only be reached via the railway line that passed by. Therefore, a train was sent to evacuate the place. On the way back, he had to use a makeshift bridge, which had already been damaged by the fire and collapsed under the train passing over it.
