El Chanal is the name of a pre-Columbian ruined city in western Mexico, a few kilometers from the city of Colima .

The former settlement of over 100 hectares was an important regional center. What has been preserved are walls decorated in relief and thirteen small pyramids. The place was settled from about AD 1100 to 1400. It is open to visitors several days a week. A large part of the archaeological finds there can be viewed in the Museo de las Culturas de Occidente María Ahumada de Gómez in Colima.
