Electronic press kit

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An Electronic Press Kit (EPK) is a press kit in electronic form - as opposed to a printed press kit - and can be on a CD, DVD or website. It is aimed at journalists in electronic media such as radio , television and the Internet .

EPKs are produced especially for movies and music projects . They should meet the content-related, formal and technical requirements of all relevant editorial offices - in order to save the broadcasters from having to film their own reports. It can contain interviews with cast and crew, scenes or concert excerpts as well as cut images and beauty shots.

EPC are usually not broadcastable, but are processed by journalists, for example by selecting certain scenes and the order of the content and combining them with their own material. The content of EPKs reaches consumers in the form of editorial radio or television programs.

In contrast to paid advertising , the aim of an electronic press kit is to present a product as part of an editorial report.

EPKs are often also sold under the name Radio Press Kit (RPK) or Audio Press Kit (APK) for promotional purposes.
