Electronic suspension adjustment

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

ESA, the Electronic Suspension Adjustment , is an innovation for motorcycles introduced by BMW in 2005 . The spring base and the damping of the front and rear spring struts can be adjusted via an electrical switch attached to the handlebar in order to adjust the chassis to different conditions.

While at the beginning of the technology the ESA was only used in the K1200 S, today it is available for an extra charge in most boxer and four-cylinder motorcycles from BMW.
