Elena Kravtsov

Elena Krawzow (born October 26, 1993 in Nowowoskresenowka , Kazakhstan ) is a German swimmer. Her greatest achievement is winning the silver medal in the 100m breaststroke at the 2012 Paralympics in London. A year later she became world champion over this route.

Life

At the age of 11, Krawzow and her parents moved from Kazakhstan to Germany (Bamberg) in 2005 as a repatriate . She has Russian and German roots. At the age of seven, she suffered from hereditary disease Stargardt's disease , which severely restricts vision and leads to long-term blindness. At the age of 12 she changed schools and went to the training center for the blind and visually impaired (bbs) in Nuremberg . Only when he was 13 years old did Krawzow learn to swim. The director of the bbs leisure center, Michael Heuer, became aware of her and directed her interest to swimming. You train at TSV Altenfurt with coach Günter Zirkelbach. On the national level, Krawzow started for the Association for the Disabled, Disabled and Rehabilitation Sports (BVSV).

Krawzow completed her training as a physiotherapist in August 2015 . At the same time, the move from Nuremberg to Berlin and the start for the Berlin swimming team of the Paralympic Sports Club Berlin (PSC Berlin) followed. Your trainer is Phillip Semechin.
