Elephantis
Elephantis , also called Elephantine , was an ancient Greek author. In her day she was famous as the author of a richly illustrated guide book on positions in making love. This book has not survived, but was very popular in ancient times . It is reported that it served as a template for Emperor Tiberius when furnishing his bedroom. Her popularity is comparable to that of the author Philainis , who wrote a similar, but presumably unillustrated, work. In addition, Elephantis wrote some medical works on conception, contraception and cosmetic hair care.
