Elitserien (Sweden)

Elitserien is the name of the top division for team competitions in Sweden .

In the 1970s and 1980s, the Elitserien replaced the highest divisions that existed until the introduction, such as Allsvenskan or Division 1 , in some sports , whereby the Allsvenskan continues to be the highest division in some cases. The Elitserien in ice hockey was introduced in the 1975/1976 season; it is the best known elite series in Sweden.
