The Eller-Montan Comp. GmbH was a mineral oil company based in Duisburg .

history

The Eller-Montan-Comp. GmbH was founded in 1917. Initially, the focus was on trading in lubricants and technical products for mining. But the company grew quickly. As early as 1919, the benzene from coking in mining was being traded as an engine fuel.

In the same year Eller-Montan-Comp. GmbH imported the first mobile filling stations from Belgium and opened Germany's first public petrol station on Düsseldorfer Straße in Duisburg in 1923. In 1969 the company operated more than 100 petrol stations in Germany.

Most recently it was a medium-sized mineral oil company with various business areas.

The legal seat was relocated to 40789 Monheim am Rhein with the entries in the commercial register on April 7 and 11, 2016.

Business areas

The business areas included a filling station network with 17 filling stations on the Rhine and Ruhr , lubricants , fuels , heating oil and the tank service. The lubricants division was transferred to AVIA Klöcker in Borken in 2013. The heating oil division was handed over to Wilhelm Hoyer KG in Visselhövede on October 1st, 2013. At the end of the year the petrol stations followed, which were leased to Oil in Hamburg, a subsidiary of Mabanaft. The Eller-Montan-Comp. thus no longer operates a mineral oil business in the true sense.

Group of companies

The Eller-Montan group of companies included:

  • Eller-Montan Comp. GmbH (management of the company's own property since 2014; no longer active business)
  • Union AZ Handel GmbH & Co. KG
  • Conti-Petrol GmbH & Co. KG ceased business activities on September 30, 2013.
