Elsa Bielitz (* around 1875 in Berlin ; † after 1907) was a German theater actress .

Life

Bielitz, the daughter of a Prussian officer, took dramatic lessons from Heinrich Oberländer , stimulated by busy intercourse with outstanding artists, and devoted himself to the stage.

She began her career in 1895 at the Hoftheater in Schwerin as "Sophie" in Wie die Alten sungen , then came to the Stadttheater am Brausenwerth in Elberfeld in 1897 (inaugural role "Hermione" in Wintermärchen ), and in 1898 to the Residenztheater in Hanover (inaugural role "Ottilie" in Charitable Women) ) and in 1900 followed a call to the Leipzig City Theater, where she made her debut as "Frau von Pöchlar" in Goldfische .

She played naturally, spiritedly, and with such real acting ability that one was always obliged to praise the young artist's talent.

Until at least 1906 Bielitz was engaged at the Deutsches Theater in Bremen. In 1907 she appeared under the name Elsa Bielitz-Ferdinand .
