Elşad Nəsirov

Elşad Nəsirov (also Elshad Nassirov ; * 1960 in Baku , Azerbaijani SSR , Soviet Union ) is Vice President for Investment and Marketing of the Azerbaijani state energy company SOCAR and Vice President of the Azerbaijani Football Association .

Life

After studying at the Moscow Institute for International Relations , Nəsirov worked as a diplomat for the USSR in various positions, including at the embassies in Afghanistan and India. After Azerbaijan gained independence in 1991, he worked at the Permanent Mission of his country to the United Nations in New York. In 1997 he moved to SOCAR, where he was appointed Vice President in 2005.

Elşad Nəsirov is regarded as a central figure in the development and communication of the pipeline projects to Europe (see TAP ). In his role as Vice President for Investment, he was also instrumental in the takeover of the Swiss Essonetz by SOCAR.
