Receiver station Eschborn

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Eschborn receiving radio station was a system of the Deutsche Bundespost in Frankfurt-Eschborn, which was used for overseas telephony and went into operation on August 30, 1948. The system used 34 rhombus antennas in 1957 and was mainly used by the US soldiers for telephony home, but also for telephone connections to Africa and Asia. However, in the 1960s, telephone cables increasingly took on the task of transmitting telephones in the shortwave range , which is why the system was shut down in 1972.
