End of production

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term “ End of Production ” (EOP) is used in industry to describe the end of series production that begins with the start of production . Since there is a legal obligation for some products (e.g. vehicles ) to guarantee the customer a spare parts supply for a certain period of time , production for the spare parts service must be continued. Many spare parts are then no longer manufactured in series production, which then already produces the new products, but relocated to special production areas or the production is outsourced to external companies. It is important that the tools are retained and are still available for spare parts production. The production of products according to the EoP is also referred to as post-series or post-series production.
