End of message

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

End of message or EOM for short denotes the end of a message. In correspondence, the short form is mostly used to clarify the conclusion of an e-mail .

The short form EOM informs the recipient that no more relevant information follows after EOM or that further documents need to be opened. This saves the recipient time and enables exchanged information to be handled more effectively.

In earlier communication methods such as teleprinter technology, the end of a sequence was marked with NNNN . The abbreviation AR ( · - · - ·  ), which also means "End of message", is used in Morse code including radio amateur operation .
