The term end band , terminal band or terminal band is a final, distinctly colored, mostly dark band on the tail of birds . Typical examples of end ties can be found in juvenile golden eagles and bussards .
A colored band in front of the end band is called a subterminal band .
Dark margins on wings are also known as end bands.
