Endo-EKG

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The endo-EKG (e.g. Alphacard ) is an electrocardiographic and direct option to check the position of the catheter when a central venous catheter is placed . This is done after the ZVK has been inserted with the help of a connected additional module. The electrical be heart potentials passed through the catheter and the amount of the P-wave on EKG - Monitor read.

  • Advantage:
    • Immediate position control of the ZVK
    • no unnecessary x-ray exposure
    • no associated transport of the patient
