Engineering News-Record (ENR) is a weekly construction magazine, published since 1917 and published in New York City ( Manhattan ).
The magazine was created by merging two magazines:
- The Engineer and Surveyor , published since 1874 , later renamed The Engineer, Architect and Surveyor , Engineering News and American Railway Journal and finally Engineering News . Most recently they were published by Hill Publishing.
- The The Plumber and Sanitary Engineer , later renamed The Sanitary Engineer , then Engineering and Building Record and eventually Engineering Record . Most recently they were published by McGraw.
Engineering News-Record arose from the merger of the two magazines when the publishers merged to form McGraw-Hill . The publishing house sold its construction division (which also published the Architectural Record) in 2014 and has been part of BNP Media since 2015.
The circulation in 2015 was around 62,200.
They publish rankings of construction companies and people in the construction industry and Awards of Excellence. Analyzes of the prices of building materials and other costs are published every quarter. Not only the US market is covered, but international developments.
