Ensonido
Ensonido is a process that makes any multichannel audio signals ( surround sound ) audible via conventional stereo headphones . Ensonido was developed at the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits in Erlangen .
technology
The six-channel soundtrack is by the software in a two-channel stereo - downmix mixed down, containing the acoustic space and header information. Depending on the distance between the virtual loudspeakers , each individual track is made audible with a time delay via stereo headphones. This is then perceived as spatial sound . Ensonido optionally supports a head tracking mode: Using headphones with a head tracker, the position of the sound sources can be adjusted according to the head movements of the listener.
