A Enterdregge is a multi-ended hook, some with barbs , which is fixed to a rope. The shape resembles an oversized fish hook . Grappling hooks were used for enemy ship takeover together with grappling hooks . Both are boarding tools, but with different ranges. While the dreggen, or dragging, is thrown using a line or chain, the hook is limited to the length of the pole to which it is attached. Both tools are used both to bring the attacked and to hold on.
