Fault clearance time

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fault clearance time defines the time from the reporting of a fault to the restart of the disrupted device or the disrupted service.

A mean time to repair ( MTTR ) is usually specified in technical descriptions to specify the availability of devices.

A guaranteed recovery time is sensibly used in contracts. Even if this cannot be maintained in every case, it is a tried and tested means to have a large number of problems solved in this guaranteed time.
