Eoin Ryan Jr.

Eoin Ryan junior ( Irish Eoin Óg Ó Riain , born February 24, 1953 in Dublin ) is an Irish politician ( Fianna Fáil ).

Ryan was first elected to Dublin City Council in 1985. In 1989 he was elected to the Seanad Éireann . He was a member of the Seanad Éireann until November 1992, when he was elected to the 27th Dáil Éireann . During the 28th Dáil Éireann, Ryan held the post of State Minister for Local Development from February 1, 2000 to June 6, 2002 with responsibility for the National Drugs Strategy.

In June 2004 Ryan was elected to the European Parliament . As a result, he did not appear in the elections for the 30th Dáil Éireann in May 2007 and thus resigned from the Irish House of Commons. As a member of the European Parliament , he was a member of the Union for a Europe of Nations group. He was unable to defend his mandate in the 2009 European elections .
