epigenetic (Greek epigenesis "subsequent creation") stands for:

  • Epigenetics , a field of biology that deals with the inheritance of traits that are not determined by genes
  • Epigenesis , the formation of new structures in the development of a living being (in contradiction to the earlier doctrine of preformation )
  • Epigenesis (geology) , in geomorphology the subsequent emergence of structures in an older environment
