Heir (legal term)

Hereditary companion is a legal term that was used primarily in the Middle Ages and in the early modern period with different but related meanings.

"Hereditary comrade" means

  1. a hereditary person , for example a property or a right ( fellow court member , market member ).
  2. the owner of an inheritance , especially if that inheritance consisted of a piece of land .
  3. a co-heir .
  4. a hereditary lay judge or confederate .
