Ercavica

Ercavica is a historic city in central Spain, about 150 kilometers east of Madrid .

The city was founded by the Romans . The city area was 20 hectares and was surrounded by a city wall. In the time of the Visigoth kings, Ercavica (Arcavica / Arcabrica) was the seat of a bishop. The city was abandoned around the 6th century. The excavations are at an early stage. The city was a bishopric; the titular bishopric of Arcavica goes back to it.
