Substitute inheritance

A replacement Heritage§ 2096  et seq. BGB ) is a testamentary in case inserted heritage that an heir before or after the occurrence of the inheritance is eliminated.

Reasons for lapse can be, for example, the heir's rejection of the inheritance or his death prior to the occurrence of the inheritance. The appointment of a substitute heir can prevent the legal succession from applying if all heirs cease to exist .
