Estidama

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Estidama is a building design methodology for the sustainable construction and operation of buildings and communities. The program is an important aspect of the "Plan Abu Dhabi 2030" to build the city of Abu Dhabi according to innovative environmental standards. "Eastidama" is the Arabic word for sustainability. The program is not itself a green building rating system like LEED or BREEAM , but a collection of ideals that are raised to a kind of specification in building regulations.

However, within Estidama there is a green building rating system called the Pearl Rating System , which is used to evaluate sustainable building practices in Abu Dhabi.
