Euromobil (language project)

Euromobil is a project for language learning and language acquisition for exchange students that has been funded since 1999 as part of the Socrates program of the European Commission in the Lingua 2 action area ("Teaching aids for language teaching"). In the course of the project, a “ best practicelearning software for autonomous and blended learning was developed, which comprises hybrid multimedia language training and information programs for nine European target languages. With the offline programs with connection to the web, students should be able to prepare for an exchange course .

Euromobil programs according to the language and level of the students

Euromobil's target languages ​​are German, English, Finnish, French, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian and Czech. The level, content and learning objectives of the programs differ in the individual languages ​​depending on the needs of the exchange students.

Beginner

  • Languages: Finnish, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Czech and Hungarian
  • Learning objectives: basic information and skills in the target language for better orientation in studies and everyday life
  • Target country-specific content: studies, services, leisure time, library (in the Finnish program), travel book (in the Hungarian program)
  • Activities: Training of vocabulary and expressions as well as listening (seeing) comprehension, writing and speaking (in the Finnish program), discussion exercises in the forum of the Euromobil website

Advanced

  • Languages: German, English and French (in the French program there are also activities for beginners and intermediate levels)
  • Learning objectives: Coping with oral study situations
  • Target country-specific study-related content: study advice, lectures, seminars, exams (in German and English programs); Arrival at the university, during the stay, exams and departure (in the French program)
  • Activities: Training in listening comprehension, lexicons and interaction strategies, evaluation of oral communication and discussions (in the forum on the Euromobil website), writing and speaking

The programs for beginners contain numerous audio files and short video sequences on all subject areas. The advanced level programs are based on video recordings of authentic and semi-authentic study situations and focus on training oral communication .
