The European University of Armenia (EEA) is an intergovernmental university headquartered in Yerevan , the capital of the Republic of Armenia . The university was founded on October 15, 2001 through cooperation agreements between Armenia and the European countries of Germany , France and Italy and was initially called the European Regional Education Academy . In addition to its headquarters in Yerevan, the university has branches in Gyumri , Vanadzor , Martuni and Ischewan .
