European Parliament Information Office in Ireland

The European Parliament Information Office in Ireland is an office of the European Parliament based in Dublin . It is one of a total of 36 information offices in the 28 member states of the European Union . Its purpose is to make the European Parliament and its members better known by providing information.

  • Providing information about the role of the European Parliament and its members and their activities
  • Provision of minutes, resolutions from the European Parliament
  • Provision of information on European elections taking place in Ireland
  • Support for speakers at events
  • Providing information about applying for an internship or about the application process at European institutions
  • Information on the rights of EU citizens
  • Information on the European Parliament's visit to Strasbourg and Brussels
  • Advice on submitting a petition to the European Parliament
  • Filing a complaint with the European Ombudsman
  • Provision of folders, brochures, blackboards and other European Parliament publications

Ambassador School Programs

The Ambassador School Program was first launched in Ireland in 2015 as a pilot project. Students are guided through the Ambassador School Program by teachers, for example:

  • a European music festival
  • Debates on European Affairs
  • an EU quiz
  • European food tastings.

Visits to schools

The Representation of the European Parliament Information Office in Ireland offers free tours for school groups through the premises on Lower Mount Street in Dublin . During the visit, the students are introduced to the working methods and Irish members of the European Parliament.

Europe House

The Europe House, the seat of the European Parliament Information Office and the Representation of the European Commission in Ireland , had been located on Dawson Street in Dublin since 1996 and moved to a modern building at 12-14 Lower Mount Street in 2014, near the Leinster House .
