Under the title Eurovision France, c'est vous qui décidez (German: Eurovision France - you decide) , the French preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 will take place in Rotterdam ( Netherlands ).

format

concept

After the French performer for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 , Tom Leeb , ruled out a further participation in 2021, the public television broadcaster France Télévisions (France TV) announced a preliminary decision on June 21, 2020 in which the performer and the contribution for the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 should be selected. In contrast to the last French preliminary decision procedure, Destination Eurovision, the in-house production company, France.tv Studio, will take over the production of the preliminary decision itself. The program is to be broadcast on France 2 .

According to the head of the French delegation, Alexandra Redde-Amiel, the preliminary round will take place in an arena in a “regional” French city that has yet to be selected. Paris should not be the venue.

Choice of contribution

Since June 29, 2020, potential candidates have had the opportunity to apply for a casting. Further details are to follow.

Moderation

Stéphane Bern is to moderate the show, who has already acted as a commentator for French television in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest in recent years.
