Eurylochus (General of Antiochus III.)
Eurylochos ( Greek Εὐρύλοχος ) was in the 3rd century BC. A general of the Seleucid king Antiochus III. of the great . He is only known through a single note by the Greek historian Polybius , according to which he was in 217 BC. As a commander of 1500 Cretans who were part of the armed forces of Antiochus III. belonged to the Battle of Raphia . However, the Seleucid ruler lost this decisive military conflict against the Egyptian king Ptolemy IV Philopator .
