history
In 1624 and later the old Seelscheid church St. Georg was used jointly by Evangelicals and Catholics. A Simultaneum was officially established there in 1677 , which lasted until 1824.
The own Protestant church was finally built between 1853 and 1855 according to plans by the architect Reinking as a classical hall church with a retracted semicircular apse and a western tower made of rubble stones. After severe destruction in the Second World War , a simplified reconstruction took place.
